Agility
Agility is a fast-paced sport in which a handler guides their dog through a numbered sequence of obstacles. Speed and accuracy are important. The obstacles: tunnels, jumps, A-frame, and weave poles are arranged in a different order for each event.
The dogs run, jump, and climb with enthusiasm, which is a reflection of their joy in working with their human partner.
Agility is truly a team activity, so training emphasizes the handler's communication skills as well as the dog's ability to perform the obstacles.
Agility can be done recreationally or competitively in local, national, or even international forums. SDTC holds three AKC (American Kennel Club) competitions each year: SDTC agility trials
