2013 Phideaux Award Recipient

It is the club's special privilege and honor to recognize the 2013 Phideaux Award Recipient.

Phideaux Award WinnerThis year's recipient exemplifies the spirit of the Phideaux Award: a long record of making substantial contributions to a variety of club activities.

Like many of us, our recipient started out planning to train a family pet in basic manners, but soon was also training for obedience competition, helping out as a ring steward, judging fun matches, and assisting in classes. We can always depend on our recipient to be on hand before events for set-up, and to stay til the end to help with tear-down. Along with obedience, our recipient has leapt into agility. Over the years our recipient has volunteered as a course builder, and taken on big jobs helping with score keeping, data entry, and secretarial duties. Seeing no reason to stop at two dog sports, our recipient has also been pulled into tracking, taking on almost every task associated with putting on tests - tracklaying, hospitality, hauling of equipment, and those all-important turns as test secretary and chair. We truly appreciate all of these contributions, but through all three sports one special skill has been especially crucial to our ability to sponsor quality events. Whether it's setting up an obedience ring, laying out an agility ring, or plotting a track, our recipient has supplied the magical ability to make square corners.

Given his spirit of generously sharing his time and unique skills, we "C" a continuing golden future for this years recipient. It is our honor and privilege to recognize and thank our
