Taffy came to live with my mother and I very unexpectedly in October of 2000, a month shy of her fourth birthday. At that time she was approximately two weeks from giving birth to ten puppies. After the puppies were raised, Taffy began her transition to life in our home. It would be almost two years before she felt at home and that her life wouldn't suddenly change again. I began training her in obedience, agility and herding. For the first four years of her life Taffy had only known the breed ring. She was never expected to do more that she had already done. Her eagerness to learn has brought her many performance titles, including seven AKC titles, Two AHBA (American Herding Breed Assoc.) titles and the Collie Club of America Versatility Award (all but two of the titles were earned in 2003). Going back to her conformation roots she also appeared as a Veteran at the 2003 Inland Empire Collie Club Specialty and was awarded Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Variety and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed. Obviously she has exceeded many expectations and, at eight years of age, she has every intention of exceeding the rest. She is currently doing agility, herding, and Mom is training her for a tracking title. She is a collie, always ready, willing and able, but you won't find her fishing Timmy out of a well....she hates getting wet!
